The Genius ReFi Explore app facilitates the spin-in model – pulling entrepreneurial talent and industry players alongside universities and research institutions – to forge science-based ventures together.
In science and deep tech commercialisation, the “spin-in” model turns the traditional tech transfer or spin-out process on its head. In the spin-out model, a university or research institution pushes early-stage lab discoveries out into the wild by forming a brand-new, fragile startup that must independently figure out how to refine the tech, raise venture capital, build a team and find a market.
By contrast, the spin-in model pulls external resources, including entrepreneurial or executive talent, into the research institution to develop the technology collaboratively, build a launch strategy or partner with industry.
Genius ReFi Explore will always remain free of charge for science researchers.
