Seattle plays host to the Bloomberg Green Festival this week. The festival invites activists and innovators to collaborate on climate solutions with a focus on sustainability, design, culture, food, tech, data, science, policy and entertainment. The festival offers solutions-driven experiences alongside expert commentary as well as a series of public-facing and engaging events across the city.
Day One has already kicked off, including a factual session on climate science and solutions. Are forest fires necessary? Is nuclear a solution for energy transition? Why are tropical storms getting stronger? Laur Hesse Fisher and managing editor Aaron Krol from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Climate Portal explained how they answer reader questions on climate. The Climate Portal works with MIT’s faculty and researchers to distill complex information into easy to understand answers for millions of readers.
